for the love of birch.

for my bridal shower last year I received a gift of Jessica Rust Design's personalized dinnerware from my maid of honor, allison. she gave us these beautiful mugs that had brown birch trees on them, and our initials and wedding year we're carved in the trunk of the tree. they are absolutely ADORABLE! i love how petite & fancy the china is and the birch trees are SOOO me.


well fast forward a year. we had several reasons to not exchange anniversary gifts this year, the biggest of all being my upcoming unpaid maternity leave and all the surmounting baby purchases we've seen the last few months. well after scouring the Internet and discovering a coupon code, i buckled the day before our anniversary and decided to expand our birch tree collection by purchasing the dessert plates.

happy anniversary to me! now we can enjoy the birch trees w/our carved initials in them for dessert & coffee :)


who knows, maybe someday we'll get the platter too :)

lunch tote.

i know i was bent on getting a bento box to carry my lunch into work, but allison's comment really hit home once i started my new job. our fridge here is teeney-weeney and would never fit a 3 layer cake let alone a 3 layer bento box.

that's why i was STOKED to find this vera bradley knockoff lunch tote at the christmas tree shoppe. the darn thing is too cute and for only $2.99 - you can't go wrong!

lucy, the store.

while on santana row, i found a store named LUCY. I beelined across the street and was determined to find something to bring home as a souvenir.

LUCY is a fun, ORANGE, women's active-wear shop. think like comfy, yoga class outfits which are even cuter when worn on the street. the ORANGE color inside made me so happy, i love orange. their yoga pants are sold in LENGTHS to fit the long legged crowd like me. no more lounge pants turning into capris' from the dryer! i picked up lucy lip gloss and a few tees (which said LUCY). the tees were LONG and fit me perfect.

the sales lady even gave me some lucy decals, stickers and a bumper sticker. i told her how much I HEART my own lucy.

piperlime.

I heart SHOES. Who doesn't? I received an email from Gap about Piperlime, an online shoe shop that they opened. I love the name and their logo, makes me hungry for lime flavored Tostitos. Although I'm not sure whether I'd buy shoes online, they're website is so FUN. Fresh Juice is their scoop on shoe news and trends and it's great for shopping the latest shoe style and trends. Search styles like peep toes, fabulous flats, metallics, bows, black and white - there is a pair for EVERYONE!
